Hi everybody, Rudolf Van Staden has been in contact with me and while I let him know that I can't organise an appraisal for this year as we will be busy with our breeding plans,I have requested an appraiser for either one of the Bank Hols in May next year. This will allow me plenty of time to organise and advertise a full weekend of activities for BB people and fanciers.I will let you all know when he gets back to me,Sandra.

We have just put the results and photos of the 2006 EBBASA appraisal in Denmark up on our website www.boerboels.com/English/BB_wld_events.htmInteresting in these pictures: Anasha Stan was too large at 72cm, but he was admitted because of his general appearance, He got a minus for height. Anasha Redneck was not tall enough, but he was also admitted because he was a very nicely put together dog. Look at his score, even though he also got a minus for height. Very promising male. Shaun

what is the maximum/minimum heights for dogs and bitches, as mentioned yogi is rather on the large size jan Hi Jan, the height for a male should be between 64 and 68 cm. The height for females should be between 60 and 66 cm according to EBBASA. They make exceptions if the dog has some other really good qualities. Regards Anne

Not all dogs fit the breed description and no matter what others may think of the dogs, to the owner it will hopefully always be the best and most loved dog. I hope you will post some photos. Regards Anne

Hi Shaun and Anne I saw some very good Boerboels at the Danish appraisal this year and I thought all the dogs that took part done very well. The friendliness of all the people there was excellent and an example of how well people can socialise when they have the right attitude and social skills.Congratulations on all your scores.Regards Paul.

Forgot to mention that we saw Caroline and Michael today with Anasha Archie. He is not as tall as Stan but is filling out very well.He is also very well trained and Caroline gave us a demonstration of his obedience training. She has excellent control and is certainly in charge of Archie.Regards Paul.

Hi everybody,Rudolf from EBBASA has been in touch after a big computer glitch affected his system and although the date is NOT confirmed yet, they are looking to come to Scotland on the last weekend in May 2007 for an appraisal. We could also run a show under the FCI rules but if I'm being completely honest I don't think enough people in Britain are ready for showing their dog yet,so I personally think we should stick to an appraisal and a bit of fun for both dogs and owners alike, though if anybody thinks differently let me know. Please understand that that is not being insulting to anybody just that showing is a bit different and you should perhaps attend a ringcraft class to find out what it is all about. It's not complicated but it does make it easier on yourself if you have an idea of what the judge requires from you and your dog. I know in Russia (where there are more than 1500 BB's) there was a show under the FCI rules and Rudolf judged this.He was very impressed by the dogs and the manner in which the show was held.Perhaps we'll be ready for showing in 2008!! I will of course keep you up to date.I know the AGM for EBBASA is Sept 9th(will check) and I imagine there are a lot of big subjects being discussed. I will keep you all up to date if we get a confirmed date through. Sandra.

Hi Sandra,
Would he be able to come south at the same time and do an Appraisal near us? We will have enough dogs in this area for an appraisal and we would still want to come to scotland to see all your dogs as well!

I had a dog that fit the breed description very well! She scored really well with Sabt, almost 85%. Only problem was, she was scared of her own shadow and had "E" - readings with medium DJD at the age of 2 years. But she sure looked good !!
And she was the apple to our eye and thought us more about the mentality of a bb than the 2 we currently live with have so rest in peace Maya ( Boerklans Freja) Ewa

Yes and i had a sister to Maya called Natt,( SABT score 82 % )she had a very good typical head ( or at least i believed),and was extremley loyal to me. She had E hips as her sister, she was insecure, afraid of the world outsidemnervous, hated other dogs, was afraid of people, afraid of loud noises etc etc.she got "better, calm" the more pain she had.She didnt bother to scare the world, she just lived with her pain.. Soemtimes good looks doesnt help when health and temperament is bad. R.I.P Maya and Natt.
