hello everyone, Anasha Tarzan got the highest score in the Danish SABT appraisal with 90%. As far as we know this is the highest (SABT) score for males in Europe this year, it is certainly the highest ever in Denmark. He is a lovely dog and we have used him quite a bit in our breeding program, really good PennHIP result at 0,33 on both hips.
2 very young (13 months) offspring (males) of Tarzans also scored around 84%, we are looking forward to seeing what his offspring in UK will score next year.
Anasha Nikita got second highest female with 87,4% also with really good pennHIP results Off hand I think it was about 0,45, but Anne can give the exact results when she comes home from painting her sons new house.
Regards Shaun

Congratulations, you must be very proud. Who was the appraiser today? Please can we see some pictures if you have any of today's event.

Johan Blumerus was the appraiser, I am afraid that you will have to wait for Paul to get home for pictures. However there are some pictures of Tarzan on our web site www.boerboels.com under "ebbasa appraisal 2006", Tarzan scored 88% with ebbasa. He certainly is a beautiful male, personally I think he is the most beautiful brindle male I have ever seen, but then we are his breeders so my opinion will probably be coloured a bit. Shaun

Congratulations to both breeders and owners!!!!
Best thing with Tarzan, his temperament is as good as his looks! And if he's anything like his sister he also has a will to work hard when asked too.
His son, Anasha Grant is a copy of his father when it comes to temper. He's for sure going to turn into one great dog too. Ewa

Anasha Grant got a great score of 85,3, brilliant for his age of 15 months. I managed to scrounge the memory stick, so here are some pictures: Anasha Listo, just visiting Anasha Pedersen, just visiting, will be appraised next year. His PennHIP score is 0,30 on both hips!!! Anasha Nikita (and me), scored 87,4% 2½ years old and Pennhip score of about 0,45 Anasha Grant, comes from Sweden, Pennhip score 0,33 on both hips(if I remember rightly) 15 months old and scored 85,4% Look at that tail!! Anasha Tarzan, PennHIP score 0,33 on both hips, scored 90% best dog at appraisal. Me, feet up after the appraisal with the new Harry Potter book. The top scoring female was from Oak View USA, sorry there are no pictures, she scored 88. something% Shaun

Yes, he was also a Tarzan puppy. (Anasha Tarzan x Anasha Toska).
We do not own Tarzan, but we do own the breeding rights to him.
It has always been important for us to get the males out if possible so they live an ordinary life instead of having them as kennel dogs for the duration of the time we can use them. Rehoming a kennel dog when it is 3-4 years old can be a very difficult task, much better if they already have a home is our reasoning.

As an added thought, the Tarzan puppy in the UK is BVA tested, he scored 10 (6 and 4), elbows were 0:0. The owners hope to get him PennHIP tested later this year, Shaun

Hello Ewa, any idea of the scores at the Norwegian SABT appraisal? Nope! As usual it's a well kept secret But I do know that the best bitch was a girl named Doda at the score 88.4 since I received a mail from her owner. I also read somewhere there was 51 dogs being appraised but do not know if that is correct. Ewa

Jules,if I'm being honest I only see the appraisal process as a necessary evil, though it is nice to show off a good dog or to know that we have bred one!!LOL.It would be lovely to have a high scoring dog but it is only one persons opinion and as long as people remember that the best dog on the day is always the one that they take home then that is good.I don't advertise scores of my dogs or their parents,if people are interested enough in the dogs they can contact me to find out. When I look at a potential mating I don't even consider the score,I only look at the dogs and how they can help me improve my breeding programme.JMHO.

hi sandra, i have found over the past few weeks that its not always the 'best' dog that gets best score of the day. you can have a fantastic dog with maybe slightly droopy eyes ( and i mean 'slightly!'), not an exact scissor bite, perhaps a couple of caramel toenails, slight droop in the lip (and again i mean 'slight') not an ironing board straight topline, but still good, maybe the ears don't quite reach the dentition, maybe the tail has a minor drop, maybe the skin isn't quite thick enough, so many points will detract from the dogs overall score, when you actually have a fantastic dog, i've seen dogs get great scores due to having all the above correct, when in fact the overall dog isn't that great, and there are better dogs there who get a lower score. jmo jan

You are both right of course, we used have used Tarzan in our breeding program for some time, and his score with SABt was 84. something before he was reappraised, that did not stop us using him. We could see his qualities in relation to what we were looking for and it had nothing to do with his SABT or EBBASA score. It never has. Hip, elbow and status For us to boast like this is just a prompt for other breeders, those that like us will wish us well and those who do not like us will take offence and not wish us well, either way we are happy whether our boast engenders a competitive spirit in our friends or envy and negative feelings in our enemies. No particular score will make any difference to our breeding plans in the forseeable future and we fully realise the dangers of putting all our eggs in one basket so that will not happen either.
