Hello all,
I just have a quick question to ask.
Does anyone know of the dates and locations of any UK appraisals for this year?
Looking at previous events it seems to be a great time to meet people with BB's and other BB's of cause, and I think I would like to try to go to one.

I do not know about UK, but we are having an EBBASA appraisal in the middle of May. I suggest that the people interested in organising EBBASA appraisals in UK get in touch with me or Blackmask Boerboels in Belgium. If anyone is interested in coming please inform us and we can help with organising accomodation. You can buy cheap flights from Stanstead to Esbjerg and London to Billund at www.ryanair.com Sterling air also give cheap flights to Billund. Both Esbjerg and Billund airports are less than an hours drive from us. Regards Shaun

Hi Meike, you can put the date and place on your homepage. We do not have a program yet. I am afraid all the guestrooms are booked by the appraisers, Ewa and Göran, Tom and Sabine and Ulla but we hope you will come anyway There is plenty of space in the laundry room, if you are willing to sleep on a madras on the floor. We can always use lots of help. Anne

We're really looking forward to seeing you guys! I will also let you in on a secret, this year we will run a very tight ship at the appraisal. If you stay in the house you also help with all the work. This year we intend to see most of the appraisal and not from the kitchen window Ewa

Hi all,
has there been any update on possible dates for any UK appraisals?
Not wanting to tread on anyones toes by bringing up the subject, but why is there so much difficulty organizing dates for UK appraisals?
I would have thought by now we would have at least had an idea that a UK appraisal is being organized.
Again, sorry if I am stomping on toes. Just concerned that the reason for the lack of date is there is not enough Boerboel owners coming together in the UK to justify an appraisal taking place here. Again very new to the community so sorry if my question is out of place. And if so please feel free to correct me.
I know this question has been asked a lot but it does seem that there is never a firm answer.
Kind Regards Leonette

EBBASA appraisal in Scotland, finally and at last!!We welcome all friendly owners of BB's!!
The appraiser shall be Linda Swart of Linjo Boerboels and with her are two great assistants,Annelie Fourre and Christophe Maesschalck. The date is Sat. May 31st 2008,this will also incorporate a Boerboel funday with donations going to the local dog rescue centre,The Dogs Trust.
Venue- Ashgill Community Hall and Parks,Stewartgill Place,Ashgill,South Lanarkshire. This venue is less than a 5 min drive from J.8 of the M74 motorway, both North and Southbound.Directions available from myself.
Registrations from 9.15am with appraisal proper starting at 10am.We shall stop for lunch between 1 and 2pm then continue with appraisals. We have already had a lot of dogs confirmed so please can you contact me if you are wanting your dog/s appraised or if you are just attending the fun events and being a spectator of the appraisals.
Fun events start at 12 till 3,including wacky races for owners and dogs, fancy dress parade, again for owners AND dogs, possibly a heelwork to music training session-all part of the fun,if I can organise it I will also try and get my friend to set up her agility course for us.If the weather is or has been wet we shall not be having the races etc as we don't want any dogs slipping(or owners for that matter) and hurting themselves.
We have already contacted a photographer who will be on hand to do pet portraits of your puppy or dog. Please speak to him on the day to book a time slot.
The local press has also been contacted as has the doggy press,so we may be able to highlight the breed, can we please make sure we do so in a positive light, thanks.
The event will also hopefully be partially sponsored by various Pet food manufacturers.
We have also invited various notable dog judges, breeders and interested parties,we have only just sent out the invitations so we await their replies.
Appraisals shall be for all dogs and youngsters over 9mths of age, evaluations will be available for puppies between 3 and 9mths.All costings for memberships, appraisals and evaluations are available from myself or EBBASA Europe.
There will be food and beverages available from 9am at a small cost. There is also a small local pub across the road from the hall (but unfortunately they don't serve meals).
There will be raffle prizes too,as well as various prizes given out throughout the day with the culmination of Best Dog,Best Bitch and Best Puppy. We are also donating The Sandaharr Shield to best dog over all, this might not be the highest appraisal score but simply the best dog on the day, taking into consideration temperament, health and fitness and also conformation. This will be decided jointly by our visitors from overseas.(This shield will stay with EBBASA and the dogs name shall be engraved on it with the owners retaining a smaller replica.)If anybody would like to sponsor a trophy for Best Male,Best Female or Best Puppy please contact me personally.
We expect a harmonius and fun atmosphere, please keep your dogs on a lead and under control at all times, please also bring a spare collar and lead in case of any accidents. Please remember to clean up after your dog.Water will be freely available for the dogs at various points in the park.If you are bringing an in season bitch we shall appraise her in a separate area and please don't let her roam around as this may cause friction with both males and females alike. Can I just add that we would also like any children attending to be on their best behaviour, there may be a lot of crated dogs and we don't wish them to be harassed, please keep all children supervised, thanks.
A social evening on the Sat night. We would like to extend an invitation to BB owners attending the appraisal to join us at our farm for a takeaway and a few drinks to wind down after the appraisal and to chat about all our dogs.I have available a couple of spare kennels and crates,I would appreciate if you you have a crate if you could bring it and crate your dogs at least for part of the time so we can all relax for a little while.
Accomodation- we are already full with visitors but I am presently making enquiries for cottages,B and B's and local hotels to find dog friendly places for people to stay,I will send out a list to all who have requested it.
We really look forward to seeing all our own puppy people again and all other dogs and owners too, whether they are to be appraised or not..

I am finalising all events and prizes for the charity event in Scotland on the 31st of May to run alongside the EBBASA appraisal.Since the popularity of the event we have had to add an extra two classes in the show of of Intermediate dog and Int. bitch(18mths -24mths). I am also pleased to announce that after a huge bit of grovelling and a little bit of expense that we have secured for an hour a very kind lady called Heather, who has twice represented Scotland in the International Freestyle Heelwork to Music championship at Crufts. This will be a real fun event for dogs and owners alike, she is going to do a display for us and then we will have a trick training session, remember your doggy treats for this and have a secure collar and lead on your dog.The BB needs good exposure like this for a change, here's hoping all will be well. For anybody not bringing their dog/s or are just interested in the breed we have compiled a catalogue with advertisements from sponsors, breeders, owners etc,a little bit about the judges and a list of all the confirmed dogs with their age and space for you to write in any scores or comments if you need to.The cost of this to people not entering any dogs is a paltry £2 to cover all the costs of the work but with this you will get a voucher which entitles you and one other to a free glass of Bucks Fizz (for non-drivers!),a tea, coffee or fruit juice. As we have a high number of dogs for appraisal we shall be running the show at the same time as the appraisal as it will make the day too long otherwise for dogs and owners alike. Can I stress that all BB's are eligible for the fun day and the show, even unregistered ones, there is nothing to say that an unregistered Boel is any different to a registered one! If you are attending please go directly to the registration desk where you can pick up your dog's pack if you are entered(or entering on the day),this is also where you will find the catalogues on sale.In your dogs pack you will find your individual number for the appraisal and show and your catalogue. All we need now is good weather,or at least dry!! Really looking forward to seeing everybody there!

Of special interest was Anasha Casey. Although he scored so well, he is only 1 year and 3 months old. He is going to be a very strong and muscular dog, much like his uncle (Bully) But even larger and more powerful. Shaun
