What to do for appraisals?

Hi all BB owners.

I am very new to this message board and have read a lot about what have been said on this board to familiarize myself with everyone. I have been told I will get most of my answers here.

I have been on the SABT web page, and understand the requirements my dog needs to look like and not to be aggressive to anyone or any dog. Unfortunately that is all I know.

Reading through all the messages on this board me and my husband Chris is now more than ever excited to do and give more where Diego is concerned.

I have so many questions and it will be great if anyone can help me with some of them.

1. Do i need to do all the check ups at the vet here and take the papers to where Diego will be appraised?

2. What type of tasks is required of Diego to do?

3. How old is too old and at what age does Diego need to be to take part in the appraisals?

4. If Diego for same reason fails what do we have to do next?

5. How does everybody travel to appraisals with their dogs? What usually happens with regards to sleeping arrangements should an overnight stay be required for me and Diego when we get there?

7. How do I get more involved in the BB community?

I think I will ask those ones first and then the rest, would not like to make everyone run away from all my questions! I would really like to know as much as I can, and will be truly grateful for some advice. If anyone wants to know more about Diego I have pic's up of him as a puppy and how old he is now with a pic as well on INTRODUCTIONS.

Here is a photo of Diego and Chris sleeping. Chris thinks it is a bit strange when I take photo's when they are sleeping. Even if I try to explain that that is the only time Diego is still enough to take photo's of.

What I do is to show up on the correct date and place (not always easy)
I bring my Sabt pedigree, enter myself to the "do", get a number thats telling me then it's my turn and when it's my turn I try to show off a not only a boeboel to the means of physical standards but also when it comes to obedience with the handler/ not always the owner over here, I also want to show a bb that is very well controlled, showing of the teeth and so on without any problems and without aggressions towards dogs/people.

If your dog doesn't score "enough" it means you can't breed her/him. Do you want to breed? Because if you do there's a lot larger issues with the bb than making minimum score before you decide to breed.

I myself have an almost 4 year old female that i think I'm not going to get appraised since I don't consider her breeding material.

If your dog does not reach the minimum limit, there's nothing you can do. But unless he's cowhooked and doesn't look at all like a bb, then you should be ok.

You forgot piebald,if your dog is a pie then you have littlechance of making the grade.
