The SABT UK Appraisal will be hosted by the UKBC on Sunday 24th May 2009 (the Sunday before the bank holiday Monday), at Rose Farm, Ash Lane, Church Fenton, Tadcaster, North Yorkshire LS24 9QZ.
The event will be begin at 10.00 am and end around 4.00 pm. We will have a barbeque, boerboel merchandise for sale and prizes for various categories; and hopefully a few fun things for the dogs.
Dogs must be 12 months old in order to be appraised. Since we have only one appraisal per year, if your pup is just under that 12 month limit then please get in touch and we will sort out the necessary permission with the SABT. If you have a younger pup then you can of course bring it along for a puppy evaluation which gives you a chance to discuss the pup with someone who is an expert in the breed and can give you advice and information.
The cost of the appraisal per dog is £50 for SABT members and £60 for non members. We have had agreement to these fees from SABT as the pound is so weak at the moment we felt that the usual Euro fee was unfair on UK boerboel owners. Puppy evaluations are £15.00.
You can of course just come along to spectate.. This is free, though we will try our best to part you from your money in terms of raffle tickets, boerboel merchandise and burgers in order to raise money for the UKBC rescue fund! We are even happy to meet dogs that are not boerboels, but ALL dogs, for appraisal or not, have to be on a lead and under control at all times.
The day is a great opportunity to put faces to names and to meet other dogs and owners. It's generally a very relaxed day and we would certainly love to see you there. For those of you travelling from further afield there are plenty of great places to visit and to stay in North Yorkshire. Locally there are hotels, guest houses and camping and caravan parks.
If you wish to register your dog for appraisal, then please contact me elainecarstens@btinternet.com. If you have any other questions then feel free contact me as above or on 01937 557804.
I noticed that someone else posted a question on a couple of other boards regarding an SABT appraisal in Canada. Can I just say that you DO NOT have to be an SABT member to have your dog appraised. EBBASA dogs will also be accepted providing that, at the very least, both grandparents are known to the SABT.
Kind regards
Elaine
