Hi Sandra, Now that proves it wrong! Scotts are not tight! You are the only one willing to pay the fees on that site. Good on you! Geri

Sandra, I always thought that the lurkers were members who couldn't be bothered to login unless they wanted to post. But Paul thinks like you that they are people who are too scared to be seen here or want to pretend that they are not interested in this board. Come on you lurkers - be brave and join. This board welcomes all friendly people who have the best interests of the BB at the heart of their actions. ;D Geri

Simon,
You are the sort of lurker we want! If only everyone who thought about a BB spent as much time as you considering the idea first, there would be less "mistakes" of people who only realise after they have got it what a big commitment a BB is.
Perhaps we should start a thread of the FAQ about owning a BB for those people who come to the board seeking information to help them decide if the BB is the right breed for them.

Think I've had information overload! Trouble is you start to think 'yep that's the dog for me'and some well meaning person tells you some third hand information about the negative side of the breed . Equally I've had some superb objective advise on this site and by private mail. So in the mean time i think I'll carry on lurking!!!!

Sandra,I don't think i need to see a puppy in the flesh to convince me. Have seen a couple of fully grown bb's and love Em. Its really if I'm honest it's down to timing. The obvious on which breeder and from a personel level. Work has bombed lately and i need to focus all my attention on that. The joins of self employment!!

Where in Essex do you live Simon, most of the time I spent in UK was in Colchester (Essex). I am 48 now, and about 9 years of those were in UK. Rest was in Africa, Germany and Denmark.
The place I live now is rather flat, in fact the highest point in the whole of Denmark is less than 200M over sea level.

Hi Shaun. I live in Fingringhoe which you may remember is about five miles from Colchester. Guessing you were in the forces? We are surrounded by fields and woods used occasionally for training by the army.Ideal for dog walking!

Although I have been in the forces, I have never been based in Colchester. I have fished a bit in Fingerinhoe. During the Winter, some rather large Whiting come up the River Colne on high tide. The water is extremely muddy, and I know it sounds quite unlikely, but the fishing is in fact much better than many coastal areas.

Been a few years but as kids we you to fish in the river albeit further upstream. I have only lived in Fingringhoe for 12yrs but am Colchester born and breed. Most people only know the village for the nature reserve and the one and only pub which used to be great but has gone down hill the last few years.Never mind its up for sale so there's hope! That said its a great place to live with a good school and strong village community I've just got to convince me wife that we would benefit from a large playful boerboel puppy that would keep my 4yr r/ridgeback from getting old before his time!!!!!!

Now, Simon don't let your wife listen to Paul's story. He wanted another RR to keep his RR company and I said they were too manic. So instead we bought our first BB from Shaun and now look how many there are! BB's are addictive - Ju has just got her second one!

Geri i think my wife is probably ahead of me already. She knows only to well this could be the start of the slippery slope! I've even suggested a puppy would be a great 40th pressie but so far no reaction unless of course you lot know something i dont?!!

I've even suggested a puppy would be a great 40th pressie Simon Well Simon, you could take her for a Sunday drive, say you found this great eating place and then just accidental happen to pass by ( )Sandra or Cris*s house and wow what do you know; puppy bellies There's NO woman that can resist a bb tummy, all pink and chubby - and if she can I strongly suggest you get another wife - it will probably be easier Ewa

Good idea Sandra but a slight floor in the plan. I would have to administer a large quantity of some sort of sleep inducing drugs to cover the four hundred miles or so.That is one hell of a Sunday drive. There again in for a penny and all that.

Is that speaking from experience Julie?Just put your foot down Simon and tell her that she is going to have a puppy and will do as she is told. Then when you wake up decide if you are brave enough to tell her.Regards Paul.
