I am shocked.I had already checked out the kennels in Scotland and the price was around£1400 for the 6 mths, reasonable I thought but they didn't have a space.I then thought about people I know overseas and I have had a very kind offer from Marcella in Canada to look after my new girl and we are also looking into sending her to a friend in Holland to be brought up in a home environment while she is pet passported. I then found out about quarantine kennels in Blackpool-the cost is -£2300,approx. Here's hoping I can send her to Holland. Sandra.

We also have the possibility for holding our own pups and pups from SA in quarantine for UK entry. There are several drawbacks though. It is our experience that all the adult dogs we have ever bought from SA turned out not up to our requirements in one way or another. What happens to the dog when this happens? These are the sort of things that have to be 100% agreed apon before we will help anyone. We do not want to be left in the position of having a dog that nobody wants and because it is not ours, we cannot do what is right for the dog.
We take £1200 and that is included transport to the Chunnel or ferry port in Holland. Not inclusive any vet fees. Shaun

Hi Sandra I wonder how they justify the variation in prices.I would certainly prefer a home enviroment where ever possible.Just my opinion.Good luck with your little girl.Regards Paul.

Well,I've bit the bullet and am going to pay the quarantine costs in Britain. Thank you to everybody who made very kind offers to have my girl stay, don't kid me on that you would have handed her over in 6 mths!!!LOL I have managed to get her in to the Scottish kennels but later than I thought sadly! She can't come until December, but what a Xmas present!I am able to visit to play and train her 4 times a week and I drove it today and can do it easily in 40 mins,30mins on a weekend!! Sandra.

Hi Sandra,
Sounds like the right thing to do to me. It would drive me crazy not being able to see a new dog for six months and at least this way you can check on her progress all the time. Can't wait to see pictures.
