Hi,just had a message from somebody saying that a committee member of the UKBC has told them that the appraisal being organised by Paul and Geri is not going ahead.Perhaps Paul and Geri would like to take this opportunity to confirm that everything has been booked and paid for and that it is going ahead as planned, with visiting members of EBBASA coming over from Belgium too. To the UKBC- come on you have run all the appraisals so far in Britain over the last what,5years (with not one in Scotland I might add!),why should you want control of this one too.Don't be mean.

Hi Sandra,
I have just replied to an email from Darren Fryer, chairman of UKBC who seemed to have not understood about the appraisal.
It has been organised by the Active Boerboel Club and all the details can be found on this message board.
If anyone has any queries they should contact myself or Julie or Shaun via email or phone Paul on 07986971113.
We are delighted by the large number of dogs already booked in and that all the major breeders in the UK are coming.
We would again like to warmly invite all Boerboel owners, breeders and anyone who is friendly and interested in Boerboels. It is going to be a real day out for all of the family with Julie organising some special extra activities to amuse the children.
Looking forward to having a great time with friends old and new.
Geri and Paul

Hi Ewa, Yes he says he is an expert on the food and drink requirements for the weekend and has even offered to come and help do the shopping. ... Why do I think it will now cost twice as much?? Geri PS he says main ingredients are red wine and lager and I thought it was BBs!

PS he says main ingredients are red wine and lager and I thought it was BBs! He's right - That's what you need to get the cooks going - Then you need some meat and beans and lots of chile and you're all set - Next stop is happy owners and with happy owners comes bb's, So you see, it is all about bb's Ewa

That way no one has a better Chile than the next one. Take a word of advice though whatever you're cooking, - keep it simple! Personally I'd go for the chocolate cake and never mind the rest

Hi Sandra, It's under the other thread but I've posted it here as well. Delighted to announce the venue is Barnwell Country Park near Oundle, post code PE8 5PB for those of you with satellite navigation. A map is available on www.northamptonshire.gov/leisure or if you google Barnwell Country Park it will take you straight there. We are also arranging a small fun agility course for the more active people and free barbecue/refreshments for everyone. We will be supplying sausages and burgers but feel free to bring more exotic things to cook if you would like. Julie is organising face painting, etc.. for the children and any adventurous adults. We are looking forward to having a great time with everyone and anyone who is interested in Boerboels is warmly invited to come along. It is a great chance to watch the dogs being appraised and talk to lots of owners and breeders about their dogs. If you are traveling a long distance and want to stay overnight there is a travel lodge at Thrapston, junction 13 of the A14, approximately 5 miles from the venue. Geri and Paul

And more details - The travel lodge telephone number is 0870 191 1611, postcode NN14 4UR. The appraisal will start at 10 am and we anticipate will finish at around 4 pm. There is no entry fee for people wanting to watch the appraisal but parking in the park is £2. You don't have to be a member of EBBASA or any other club to have your dog appraised, or to attend this event, anyone who is interested in Boerboels is welcome. It is a great opportunity to meet owners and breeders. Please see the EBBASA website for details of dogs eligible to be appraised. www.ebbasa.euIf you have any queries please contact me at geri@fsmail.net or phone Paul on 07986971113. Cheers Geri

Hi Everyone,
Thanks to everyone who came and made the appraisal such a great day. The rangers in the park were more than impressed with all the dogs and are hoping we can hold more events there.
Was it a good location, travel wise?
It wasn't my plan for rain when I booked the hall but it turned out ideal and the dogs were all brilliant!
Thanks to Cris for all the refreshments and Clive for getting the barbeque going.
Paul and I are about to drive Susan, Linda and Patricia to Dover to catch an early ferry.
I am going to post the results under a separate thread.
