Hi all Took both dogs to the vets yesterday for weigh in & general health check. We were advised to have Sim vaccinated again for Parvo now he is 16 weeks as Parvo seems to be rife. If any of you have a young pup please ask advise from your vets to see if Parvo is a problem in your area & if they also suggest a 2nd booster for them. Ju

Hi Ju! Over here we always give Parvo. It's recommended by both vets and other dog organizations. You can f.ex not go to a dog show without showing that your dog has been fully vaccinated and that includes the Parvo. Been like this for years.
None of my dogs has ever showed any kind of reaction to any of the vaccinations they had.

Ewa Automatically pups are given parvo vaccination- but now they are saying a booster is needed when over 16 weeks as there seems to be an endemic here. Ju

Hi Ju,
There seems to be more incidents of parvo than ever now, it makes the early vaccinations at six weeks even more important. Does it affect the extra vaccination? We will have to ask how long the pups are covered for and advise puppy owners to get the booster done.

We are now vaccinating pups at 4 weeks with Galaxy,7 in 1,this means there is no break in the antibodies and it doesn't work against the mothers immunity,we will then vacc again at 8 and 10 weeks.
