Well, the girls go for their check up at 7 weeks today and get their second part of the Eurican vaccine. I've had flu and am now thankfully recovering in time for whelping. I am going to have the girls weighed to see how much difference there is in them between normal weight and whelping weight. Razzy has a bunch of squigglers in there and seems quite uncomfortable at times,I really don't imagine she will last her last 2 weeks,I'm placing bets on pups by a week on Sat.!!! ;D

Hi Sandra, good luck with the girls. How many of your females are pregnant? It is a shame one cannot control the seasons so that you only have one litter at the time. Looking forward to seeing photos of all the babies. Regards Anne

Hi Anne,we have 2 BB's and our sole Akita all pregnant. We only breed at this time of year as we feel it is easier to control the body temp of the pups in the Autumn rather than the Summer. Our Akita only comes in to season once a year and this year decided to come in early along with the others. We had a summer litter many years ago and it was a nightmare trying to keep the pups the correct temperature as it was so hot . We are lucky now that we have such a nice big place that there is a room for each girl and her pups. Will let you know how we get on. Sandra.
