Hi all BB lovers, My name is Leo-nette. Me and my husband Chris discussed for a year getting a dog. I used to tell him stories about my BB back home in South Africa and said I would love to have one again. We looked for a year long and then decided to get a puppy from Coomore. James was very helpful and explained what he was looking for in BB owners. Diego was born on the 2nd Feb 07. My husband drove over to Ireland to collect him on 21st April 07. Diego was and still is the most beautiful dog in my eyes. He is loving, sweet and clumsy at times and he is always under our feet. He likes to go to the park, going for long walks and a drive. Here are some photos of my baby. Comments welcome! Kind Regards Leo-nette. Diego at 4 months Diego at 13 months

Hi Sandaharr Thank you for the reply and the warm welcome. You are perfectly correct. Diego's dad is Ysterberg Berretta and his mother is Baden Whisper. He is a very happy dog all though i still see him as a puppy. Even thou he has started his teenagers ways. I have now finally got the jumping down to nearly no jumping anymore. He seems to be a bit scared off the wind and don't like the rain at all. And he doesn't want to leave me or my husbands side. When ether me or Chris is not home Diego will sulk till both of us are together. Me and Chris is trying him to get use to us not always being at home. So we will leave for an hour came back etc. We don't make a fuss when we are going to leave nor when we came back home. The best results we have had so far is him not taking the blinds off in our living room anymore. As for the sulking nothing has changed. He loves people a lot the more the merrier in his eyes. The only thing is he has an attention span of a goldfish. First he wants attention from everyone and when he gets it 1 min is more than enough form every person. Nothing more nothing less. Its is my first time on any message board what so ever. So i took same time to familiar myself with every one on the message board. Me and Chris is newly married and i am just a tad on the overprotective side. And yes think about the best and worst scenarios even if nether will ever happen and very far in the future. ;D I asked of James to get Diego's tail docked, reason being when me and Chris decide to have children i think a big dog like the BB could do more harm than good with a tail swinging from left to right near children. O yes just a reminder I'm overly protective. I know this is not one of the best choices for discussions but would just like to know how people with children find the BB who is not docked. I would like to know for if or when i do decide to get another BB. As for her tail will be on because of the law. Is the tail a problem near children or not as much as i can imagine? Would like peoples input on the subject. Many thanks to all. Kind regards: Leonette Diego getting distracted by my camera, away from Chris.

Hi Leonette and welcome to the board. Currently the activity is a bit slow but I suppose it's down to crazy spring weather and strange flu's and stuff. I'm sure everybody will be back in due time.
As for long tails and children you should ask Ryk to show some pic's. Their daughter (and now son) is brought up with an undocked bb male. It's great fun watching Katherine when she moves amongst a bunch of bb's ,all with tails due to the laws over here.

Welcome Leo-nette ( & nearest BB neighbour !!) Diego looks great - @ same age as Sim so shall email you current pics of Sim. Can't wait to meet up with the dogs in a huge field & see how they get on - 'suck it & see' being a UK phrase.Least we have at least one thing in common - love of BBs! As regards tails - it I believe is now illegal to dock over here. But after being over in Sweden last year at Ewas BBQ little Katherine there was not a problem with any dogs tails as regards small children- Ryk is huge & adorable as are Ewas dogs(&all the rest who were there) - the one who stood out for me was Bens dog Grant whose tail was like a helicopter - kept thinking he was going to take off!! Have never had a problem with my 2 children - Buse more like s to take the 'mick' with an adult male with her tail & whacks him where it hurts. LOL. Good to have you on board - I'm sure you will find everyone on this board funny, stupid &blonde (Sandra!) Talk to you soon Regards Ju

Hello Leo-nette, welcome to the forum. Here in Denmark docking tails is illigal. We sell most of ouy dogs to people with children and the tail is not a problem. Kind regards Anne
