First night of training at the ringcraft for JJ and Bronson tonight. They performed very well indeed except when an Akita tried to jump on JJ she gave it what for and she also bit the girls thumb who was holding her and a tripe stick to entice her,it was all too much for JJ and she wanted the stick before the girl was ready and I'm afraid there was a bit of blood loss. Bronson was very good and they were both much admired and fussed over. I believe there will be more BB's joining us next week for socialisation and training,is that right Alan and Martine?

When the FCI take the breed on the Irish Kennel Club will be registering the BB so we shall be allowed to show over there before Britain,I guess I'm going to have to buy a ferry season ticket.I have a very good friend in Ireland so she may be helping in this venture.Meanwhile it is great socialization for the pups and teaches great manners with other dogs.

No,they don't need passports but they must be chipped, both bits of Ireland involved. It is a bit of a mess at the moment as the Irish kennel Club are now showing under FCI rules at some shows and not at others ,so quite a difference in the groups.ie Ridgebacks now up against Dalmatians which was unheard of before,it was the Akitas against the Dals before in the Utility,(which should never have happened either, always thought the Akita should have been in the working group). Now the groups have numbers,I'm sure they will have it all fixed out 100% soon.
A quick update on our rescue Akita-we brought her back to us for various reasons and the wee thing is so skinny she looks like a husky, you would never believe she was an Akita, anyway, she was chock full of worms, hence the poor coat etc and she didn't know what to do with a piece of raw chix, now she does, with gusto!!We will have a long process now of building her up.Luckily the guy had not transferred ownership so we were able to phone KC and get new papers for her and have her in my friends name now, which meant if it came to a court action against him for the dog we were in a better position for getting her back.Luckily it never came to that.My goodness she knows how to chew a kennel though!!Am off to buy her some new toys!
