The events of this week have reinforced for me the need for a European club with democratically elected officers who will support Boerboel owners and breeders throughout Europe.
A club without cliques or political agendas with a commitment to supporting people who just want boerboels as a breed to thrive.
It is sadly quite clear that despite previous changes in the commitee of UKBC - the intention to remain a closed shop is still at the heart of their actions.

I agree, I think that all of you that are interested in forming a club, and having something to do with the running of the club, volunteers for the committee etc. should contact me on anashadk@yahoo.com Then we will go about forming a club legally.

Sorry to harp on about this UK club business, but I think that it is important that you people realise that certain things are happening, and you have to get prepared for them. There is little doubt that EBBASA and maybe HBSA will turn their databases over to KUSA sometime during 2007. This means that KUSA will have the 1500 Boerboels it needs to recognise the Boerboel as a race, This means that the dog will be probably recognised by FCI within a very short time.
In order to have a say on what criteria are required for a Boerboel to be bred on, a club has to be formed, otherwise the Boerboel will be judged on looks alone.
Now is the time to get a club up and running so that all the rules can be agreed apon before the KC make all the rules.

Hi Shaun I know very little about the politics involved here - all I can say is that if & when the KC get hold of the Boerboel it will be a great shame. Just my personal view of the KC Ju

Look at all the FCI Molossers... It would be more than a shame!!!!!!!!!
Someone in the USA already tried to register the BB with the FCI. These people are not BB lovers, they will kill the breed

Hi Shaun all I can say is that if & when the KC get hold of the Boerboel it will be a great shame.Ju The problem is that personal opinions about KC will not stop it happening. It will happen, and we have to be prepared so that we can have a say about how it is going to happen. Shaun

Come on then guys - go for the jugular & let me know you're all still out there. If the BB got on the DDA in the UK then surely they wouldn't be able to be KC reg ? I Know very immature , but a thought & surely some Breeders will have plenty to say on the matter! Ju

Hi Julie as a breeder I would not welcome the breed being recognised by the kennel club but unfortunatley it will eventually happen. In order to help protect the breed as we know it the strongest way would be to form a Boerboel club strong enough so as members we have a say in how the breed should be and NOT the Kennel club and certainly NOT the UKBC who I agree only have their own personal agenda and interests at heart and despite what they try and say do not represent the larger part of the Boerboel community. The only way that can be prevented is by forming a democratically elected club which is there for the benefit of the majority and not minority. As usual just my own personal opinion. At least on this board I am allowed one.Regards Paul.
