I read a little at EBBASAs homepage, and was wondering about the hight regulations… if your dog is taller than 68 cm (male) or 66 cm (female), will he/she be disqualified or will he/she just loose a few points?
· Disqualifying Characteristics - General Appearance · Clumsy, unbalanced appearance and/or movement · Too large and/or too heavy · Too small and/or too light · Any sign of any other breed of dog · Males over 68cm to shoulder · Males under 64cm to shoulder · Females over 66cm to shoulder · Females under 60cm to shoulder - Aggressive Nature · Aggressive and uncontrollable when the owner handles the dog - Head · Too small, characterless head · Short upper jaw/long lower jaw · Liver coloured or pigmentless nose · Sharp mouth · Blue eyes - Conformation · Chest too small · Cow hocks · Bandy legs · Front legs fold in or stand out · Curly hair/long hair · Whiskers on mouth · Saddle-backed · Straight legs - Colour · Black · Piebald · White · With one eye or both eyes white

As far as I am aware and have seen in the past, the dog will not be disqualified if it is balanced,in proportion etc.Though it is supposed to be a disqualifying fault the appraiser will look at the dog and must judge the seriousness of the fault and mark accordingly. There are many, many, many dogs that would be disqualified if this were rigidly stuck too, including quite a few in Britain. How this will pan out when all dogs are registered with KUSA I don't know, as the standard is there to be bred too and maintained,it is our blueprint, our instructions as it were, on what we should be achieving. All the other breeds that are shown seem to manage to keep within height limits and I think we should be trying to achieve the same within the BB,it's the only way we are going to be able to standardize the breed. The only thing is it is like everything in breeding, nothing is guaranteed, you can breed 2 dogs, perfect heights and produce monsters or smouts or both in the same litter!!
