Social training with children

I'm sure quite a few of you have the same problem I have - Most of our friends ain't all that keen on letting our dogs interact with their children. Well this weekend gave us lot's of opportunities to let the girls interact with Catherine since she lives with a bb!

Well Paul if they're as good as Cathrine - Then I can consider the option. Otherwise....hmmmm.... think I'll pass

Chili absolutely adores children but most of the time they don't like her as much! She slobbers and give huge kisses and her tail is just in the face height at a certain age. Mubi's a lot more gentle and most kids prefer her. She hasn't got that annoying tail either. (Only time I prefer them cut)

OMG Ewa - those pics are to die for.
I know what you mean as regards parents not wanting their children to come visit when they find out you have a large dog.When we had our rottie the amount of parents after the children had arranged tea & sleepovers etc who phoned to cancel was unbelievable.Now if I casually mention we have BBs - no one knows what they are - I don't explain & the children are quite safe.If you've noticed from some of the pics we have iron railings to separate the main part of the garden - this is due to in summer they like to camp out in their tents with friends.I wouldn't be happy with any type of 'animal' around children unsupervised etc, no matter how big or small.The visitors only get 'shocked' when I tell them if they need the loo in the night - pick a bush!

Bit tired this am , was at a 'Love poetry - hate racism' festival last night in which my sons band was supporting group. It was great - but the band kept getting asked back for encores - so a late night for all.

Took Sim out for a road walk yesterday - knocked on most peoples houses & then ended up at the local footie field & got 2 random kids to fuss him etc.Needless to say it took hours!
Buse enjoyed her long walk out in the fields with Clive - without little one mythering!
