Hi all,
I am hoping to fly to South Africa over Christmas to spend time with my extended family and more importantly bring Leo-nette home. It would be the first time I have spent Christmas there since myself and Leo-nette met 4 years ago. Unfortunately I can't find anybody who is available to take Diego for two weeks over Christmas. The usual people we use when we go away are fully booked and have been for some time. Can anybody recommend anyone or even offer him a roof over Christmas? Obviously I would compensate for the time and trouble and provide all food etc. Not bothered about travelling within reason either as I am just desperate to find somebody who I can trust would look after him well and be able to handle the breed. Many places just don't want such large dogs and take one look at him and say no, without actually looking at his face and realising how much of a big soppy baby he is!
I just don't trust kennels as I have seen changes in dogs who have been there for even a short time. He is part of the family and I wouldn't send my brother to jail for two weeks if I went away on holiday!
(OK... maybe I am lying there!)
If anybody has any suggestions or can offer some help drop me a PM or post up here, I'm monitoring Leo-nette's accounts while she is away, and I am sure she will drop in from time to time, winds of the Internet allowing. Obviously we would love to be able to return the favour to anybody else should there be a need in the future.
