Just to let everybody know that we have a 20month old spayed female who is looking for a new home through no fault of her own.She is free to a good home and a terrific bitch. Before the UKBC and posse jump on the bandwagon,she was advertised with a price to put off the bampots that phone and if they had read the advert instead of listening to others and jumping straight onto to their petty board to comment they would have seen that all homes were to be strictly vetted and owners had to be experienced They really need to learn that you can use any advertising medium,it's how we,as breeders,separate the wheat from the chaff that matters! May I repectfully remind the UKBC it may pay to look within the club members for ethics on pups/dogs etc instead of outwith.

I agree, when we first advertised in UK, we also used the different advertising available, we thought that the more people you have to choose between, the better the chance that you can place at the right home. The question you have to ask yourself is: who reads this medium? Obviously someone on the UKBC board does or they would not know the advert exists. If he/she uses the medium, then they cannot argue that it is exclusively for people that should not buy/attain a Boerboel. Obviously all types of people read this type of advertising medium, therefore the response will also be from all types, they just need vetting.

Yep,agree about all sorts of advertising,just for the record we also advertised in the Herald,not one of your everyday tabloids,it seems to be the preffered choice for business types,they are not always the best choice for owners but it covers both end of the spectrum..

Hi Sandra,
We use the H & H because old copies usually end up in vet surgeries and we even get people ringing up a year after an advert was printed.
I agree it is about choosing the owners carefully and if I just don't feel happy about someone - even though I'm not sure why - they don't get a puppy.
Paul just has to trust my female instinct.

Forgot to say - I have fostered and then re-homed various and many dogs and cats and kittens and I always "charge" a contribution towards the costs - it rarely covers the cost but it does make sure that people really do want the animal. Needless to say never at Christmas or Easter.
I am always amazed that people phone desperate to provide a home and yet when you tell them to ring again a fortnight after the holiday .... you never hear from them again!

Hey Guys: I'm no moderator on this board but could I just remind you as to why we all fled the other 2 boards;
For me it was a because of people would jump to conclusions regarding other people (known or unknown) and their bb's/breeding/training/competence etc.
Therefore I suggest, as long as we don't have anything written, preferably in blood, lets not backtalk people. I know it's still done on the other 2 boards so therefore I suggest that it be kept there and we can have this place in peace and let visitors and newbies feel welcome with whatever it is they want to ask without having to feel they have to think twice before asking in case of getting stabbed in the back.

Hi Sandra,
Have you had any success finding a really good home for your dog? It is so difficult if you post a picture there is always the fear that the ahh... factor may influence people.
