OT but I'm hoping that maybe you can help! Due to Mubi having very dry eyes she has to use some eydrops that are called Comfort Shield and made by I.COM (in Germany). Working substance is 0.3 Hylan A fluid 0.15%. Well these are dead expensive over here; £14, 50 or almost 20 E. I buy them in a box containing 15 pipettes and they last me 7 ½ day. I have found them in Germany a little bit cheaper (15 E) but still only in the form of pipettes. I have been told that it is possible to get them in a bottle. That would save me from throwing away half of the eydrops unused and it would probably also hold a lower prize! So if you guys would have a look at what the situations down your local pharmacist I would be forever grateful. Saved money would of course be invested in toys and goodies for the girls I will of course pay for all your expenses. No -Ju and Sandra - I won't pay for you two getting together in the pub having a brawl (or should that be a crawl? while buying the stuff Ewa

Ewa, Have a look at www.dry-eyes.co.uk this is a website which specialises in eye drops. We have used optrex on our dogs. Toska used to have very inflammed eyes and these really helped. I would suggest having a look at the ingredients and asking your vet which would be a suitable alternative product. If they are just for comfort to make the eyes feel more comfortable you could also try eye drops designed for contact wearers. They are for putting in the eye if the lens make the eyes too dry and so may be just what you want. If you want to try some I can always order and get sent to you - but they may post directly to you which would be cheaper cos you wouldn't be transporting them twice. Geri PS We also have vet chemists on the internet which would also be cheaper. I have found with my horse that often human products whilst not licenced for horses work just as well. It doesn't work the other way round though!

Hi Ewa, this week I'll see the vet to get tickfence; I'll ask for eyedrops containing 0.3 Hylan A fluid 0.15%. But usually in Holland everything is more expensive than in Germany - except for cheese and flowers ... Albert.

Hi Ewa I wear contact lenses which are night & day constant use etc. If ever I have a dry eye or irritation then I use Bausch & Lomb for sensitive eyes plus saline solution. It has a gentle pH-balanced formula which contains potassium, an ingrediant found in natural tears. I just squirt it straight into the eye. Whether that would be of any use for Mubi, I don't know. As for Sandra & I having a brawl/crawl , I think the word you were looking for was a Ball - as we're such ladies don't you know ;D Ju

Thanks for different suggestions but my vet, in whom I put quite a bit of trust, doesn't agree with giving Mubi other (cheaper) stuff. He says it doesn't work as well as this product does.
I will however see what I can find out and see if I might be able to find another brand but the same components and talk to him.
Thanks for trying to help! Ewa

Thanx Meike. I already buy the pipettes at a pharmacy in Travemunde but they say they can't get it in a bottle. Well, atleast that's what Göran says they say! I'm not all that sure that the lines of communication are working properly when Göran tries to speak German I also happen to know his memory is at best - selective! So if you could find out for me if it's possible to get either that exact brand in a bottle or another brand but same contents in a bottle in Germany I would be grateful. Ewa
