I was surfing about a bit and found an add were a person was selling bb X cane corso puppies in my part of Sweden. She describes them as; "big, nice looking, strong built" - Yeah right! What kind of buyers does she want to attract with that? And worst of all, not a single word about any health issues what so ever.
It's a sad day. Ewa

Hi Ewa I take it as BB crossed with Cane Corso? Surely someone would know where this BB came from? Ju

I'm pretty sure I know were it came from - but I can't see how that will help! Ewa

Sadly this is going to become more and more of a problem but there is little we can do!

We can do something about it - we can inform people about BBs. Their correct temperament, about registration and so on. I have put some information on my website - hope that helps only a few people. And we can inform others yout these so called breeders

I have one entire page devoted to the health of the bb on my homepage. I write about hd/ad/prolapse/cruziate ligaments/temperament and social training. I tell people they are NOT Labradors! I get plenty of mails from people asking me questions. I never say anything untrue or bad about a breeder - I just tell them to ask for X-ray results, vet certs and if possible mental tests and to get guarantees - what happens if your puppy? I tell them to see as many dogs as possible and so on because they varies so much. Still people buy dog after dog from these breeders. One of them has lined up 8 matings this summer, one bitch has unprovoked bitten people at least twice, one bitch and the male she was mated to has produced demodex in puppies - still he's using them. He's actually planning to do the exact same mating that produced the demodex puppies And now this! I think I've reached my limit here - maybe I'll just get pugs from now on - or go back to healthy spaniels. I didn't get into this breed to become the bb police...but now I've been doing this since 2000 and it DOESN*T GET ANY BETTER. E/

Ewa I think unfortunately no matter what breed you become involved with, problems from 'minorities' always occur. We have labradoodles down here! Ju

Ju,
I quite fancy a small labradoodle - small enough to cuddle on my lap and big in character to be a real dog! We have had some discussion about what dogs we will have when we are old. (70's ,,,,) We are realistic enough to know that BBs are not for old people in fact Shaun reminded us to think about the age of people whom we sell pupppies to..
