I'm so glad somebody out there is giving Paul and Geri the positive feedback they deserve.I have spoken with Paul on many occasions and have met both him and Geri and found them to very caring about their dogs/pups and their upbringing.Caroline, thank you for writing in and I must admit I'm a bit jealous of your pup as Bella is one of my fave dogs as Shaun and Anne know!! Hi Helena & Helene! Nice to see you guys over here Great pic of Ryk! Bet ya he's the best babysitter in the world and when Catherine starts looking at boys - well Peter Christian won't have to buy a shotgun - he just has to let Ryk out the door Ewa

Hi Caroline! Nothing to be shy about Quite a few of us "know" eachother already and I recon we're a quite civilized bunch I also hope/believe/wish that this board will be kept civilized and that those who want to hunt persons will be chucked out! Welcome aboard! Ewa

I hope that the board will be kept clean of these people too, I shall certainly do my best to keep them away.

Hi Caroline I too had the same pleasant experience with paul & Geri. And also like yourself , after losing my Rottie took alot of time on the internet researching about different breeds & came across the BB to be the one for me. Ju

Hi caroline Archie is in good condition How old is he & who are his parents. Excuse ignorance - but I have not been on the BB scene that long - so I sometimes feel like you - are people going to think me nuts. I am not a breeder & at the moment don't intend to breed from Buse. Ju

Hi All,
Thanks Caroline for your report on Paul and me. We do our best to match people and puppies and Paul always says I do my best to put people off. This tests their commitment to having a Boerboel. We have only had one family who really shouldn't have had a boerboel and one couple who realised they had made a mistake after only one week. This may sound like a good record from four litters but we think we have been careful but also lucky. Sadly some of the people who come do not always tell the truth and we have had to rely on gut instinct telling us - there is something fishy about them. We also check people's post codes on the internet to see where they live. This at least gives us an idea about the space they will have around them to exercise a BB and whether they have told us the truth.
The good side is all the fantastic people we have met who are taking wonderful care of our dogs!!!
Geri PS I have always left it to Paul to post on boards - since he liked the fight! But since this board is only going to be friendly and I don't want Shaun to shoot me as a lurker - I have come out in to the open!!!

Hi Geri Nice to see you post on a board. Do you use Google Earth ? really good tool with ariel (don't know how to spell tonight)pictures etc of houses front & back etc. One thought that struck me with the diversity/localities of new BB puppy owners perhaps it would be a good idea for current owners(not other Breeders) to go along to the prospective puppy owners home along with their own BB & weigh up the situation if they are more local than the Breeder. Thoughts please ? Ju

Hi Ju That would be great. We can't travel to check homes and look after puppies - although as you know we try and get a list of owners ready before the puppies are born. It is also good for prospective owners to talk to people who have recently brought a bb puppy up. I am sure dogs live for ten years so that we all forget just what sheer hard work having a puppy is. My second collie kept getting me up at 5 am for 18 months and at the time I swore no more puppies. How many puppies Paul and I have had since ....... I will get Paul to contact all our puppy owners and see how many would be willing to visit and show off their dogs. Great idea!! Thanks Geri

Hi! Some of us in Sweden are showing our dogs to prospective buyers. it's quite fun, you get to met all kinds of people with all kinds of questions and you meet some that should stick to porcelindogs and some that will be great. Most of the Anasha dog owners in Sweden try to get togheter and do fun stuff every now and then too. You get some staring when your outand about with 5-10 bb's (sometimes more) Ewa

Hi Geri Glad you think it would be a good idea.(Again being a novice on the BB side of things didn't know if that would be a PC thing to suggest) At the end of the day - if new owners are faced with an adult BB & their handlers, find them(prospectives) 'sketchy' etc or the living environment not adequate , then at least impartial BB owners can give their assessment to the Breeder. Myself & Clive have talked about breeding from Buse as she is such a lovely example in breed / temperament of a BB - but we do not have the facilities like you guys , in the case of 1 coming back etc. I would also not give any of the pups up without a fight ! It would be interesting if other Breeders would consider doing the same & if a 'Board' of non-breeders would be willing to help out & do home visits etc irrespective of Breeder. Ju So at the moment we are being realistic & just trying to think of alternate ways to help out. As you know we had to re-home my baby RR as the '2 girls' were fighting. I took alot of grief from different sites about this - basically saying it was my fault. My family has always had 2 similar aged bitches with no problem. Ju

Petra, love your dogs.We have always found the Rottie to be a very intelligent breed ,much of a same as the BB.Do you find much difference between the two, intelligence wise?

By the way talking of small world, hubby went into a cafe in London yesterday, and came face to face with a boerboel, chatted to the guy and it turned out the dog is tiggers brother, they sat and chatted for a while and he invited him to come see all our lot, said he was a lovely dog, very friendly and very big like our tigs, jan
